The University of Sto. Tomas in the Philippines, the first university in Asia, is celebrating its 400th of existence. With the quadricentennial celebration, world famous sculptor Ramon Orlina created the Quattro Mondial for the university. The Quattro Mondial was made of bronze and glass. It shows four human figures under a tilted globe. The four figures were modeled by beauty queen Charlene Gonzales, Monina Orlina, Fr Rolando V De la Rosa and actor Piolo Pascual. Under this masterpiece is a Latin inscription meaning accomplishments, scholarliness and wisdom. Link: QuattroMondial - Another UST Treasure (ust); Philippine

I've never heard of this before; a national ballet company. Do other countries have this? The reason I'm interested isn't because of the ballet (nothing against it just not interested in it), but because I recently also learned that many countries have national orchestras. Much like a national sports team, these lesser known cultural programs are on a national level as well. That's why this interests me.Link: Philippine National Ballet Company (entertainment); Phi

All this is very true. Michelangelo was one of Rennaisance Italy´s foremost painters, sculptors and even philosophers, in his own way. One of humanity´s greatest desires has always been the wish for peace, spiritual peace, that is. This remark comes from my conviction that the figure Micheangelo painted is almost in a state of meditation. That is the reason for that enigmatic smile, the lady is "contemplating" in a detached way. Uninvolved, as it were. Yoga meditation does not come from India, it has always been here and Michelangelo realized that hundreds of years ago. God bless all! Link: Behind Mona Lisa’s Knowing Smile (famous artwork); Art

Reading between the lines would help you appreciate the beauty of the poems created by the brilliant artist E.E. Cummings. Take for example the Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town. At first, you would be bombarded with negative thoughts as you read the lines literally. But if you gain deeper understanding of those lines you would appreciate the inspiration ideas hidden behind it. The pronouns were given a special role together with the four seasons which denotes the passing of time. These simple words were made significant by the writer.Link: The Pronouns Behind Pretty How Town (literature); Creat

Reading this review of the poem sounds like the way in which many people approach everyday life. A lot of people always think "everyone" or "someone" is out to get them and are consistently negative using these pronouns. Alternatively, many people also like to use the "anyone" and "no one" pronouns to express their loneliness. However, as the review says, by simply replacing the pronouns with specific characters then the message becomes positive, which can also apply to everyday life.Link: The Pronouns Behind Pretty How Town (literature); Creat
