Please give us a short summary of your website?
The Zucco Fine Art Gallery is an online gallery which presents a unique collection of fine art paintings and giclees from three generations of painters from one family. Artists Jennifer Ann Zucco, Kitty Zucco and Weston Morley Geety have created seascape, landscape, floral, figurative and animal artwork from as early as the 1920’s till present day.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
My sister, artist Jennifer Ann Zucco, died from breast cancer in August of 2006. To honor her, I felt it was important to create a website where her artwork, along with art creations of my mother Kitty Zucco and deceased uncle Weston Morley Geety, could be enjoyed by a larger worldwide audience.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The Zucco Fine Art Gallery is my first website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The Gallery is named after my family - Zucco.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Sharing three generations of my family's artistic talents is a joy and a great source of pride.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To record as broad and complete record of all the artwork created by these three exceptional artists.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The process of working toward a goal and making continued progress is the greatest reward. A project like this requires patience and passion. I have both those qualities.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would hire an organization to link this wonderful website to every directory so more people would have the opportunity to see the special artistic vision my family members possess.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Of course. All the effort is worth it - for my wonderful family.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Being a total novice when it comes to art, how to run a gallery, how to set up a gallery on the web, to learn everything from scratch - It's been a challenge and continues to consume massive amounts of time and energy.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Balancing all the many facets of life and following through on all my activities and intentions with a continued sense of pride and purpose.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I am learning. To start off, making the website operate and appear to the standards you believe will satisfy your customer base.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's a very demanding creative process. Creating and building my website challenges me to always pay attention to details. success always lies in attention to detail.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I opened the site in October of 2008. The future is filled with limitless possibilities.
Is all this effort worth it?
When your life experiences lead you without question in a direction to a specific path, you have to go for it 100%. Don't question your vision, your intentions, your faith and confidence in your own abilities. Things would never get done if we did not follow our dreams.
