Name of your website?

Brand X Paitning

Your name?

Thomas Dixon

Your Location (city, etc)

Orem

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Brand X Painting is a miniatures painting service dedicated to quality painted miniatures at a reasonable price. We have many years experience painting many different types of models for many different game systems. We can paint anything you need!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The painters and assemblers, along with myself, used to work for Blue Table Painting. After some thought, we decided to strike out on our own to be able to offer a more traditional painting style than what Blue Table Painting offered. We now offer better prices, better quality and the same fast turnaround our clients came to expect with Blue Table Painting.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This was my first actual website that was serious. I'd worked with people before to produce some quality websites, but this is the first one that I created 100% by myself. I decided to use an existing CMS platform that has had quite a bit of success and a lot of flexibility. After choosing Drupal, I can't say enough good things about it!

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We all got together one night and started throwing out ideas. Once Brand X Painting had been tossed in, it was decided that it would be our name.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We believe we offer a superior product at a great price! We've done our homework on what similar sites offered and we believe we are the best one out there. Where other people just do it for fun, this is what we do for our job. We are totally dedicated to doing what we do.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We are going to keep the site up and keep up the good work we've been doing. We're going to, hopefully, expand our studio in the next year or so to be able to have more people who can do more work.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Being that Drupal is free, it wasn't a lot of time involved in making a site that is gaining a lot of success. I think it was totally worth it!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't believe we would change it at all, really. If anything, we would just want to expand it. I would like to have an automated system for people to be able to get quotes for projects in real-time instead of having to wait for an email response. Automation is one of our goals and we're working on it at the moment.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, I believe we would be able to keep up with the demand. We have a large talent pool with many years of experience painting whole armies worth of models in a short time. This is what we do!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None that I can think of. So far, everything has gone pretty smoothly for us.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Advertising has been somewhat interesting. As of now, it's gotten quite a bit easier and a lot more manageable

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

We've advertised our site on several large gaming forums. We also get a lot of visitors from word-of-mouth from previous clients

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

There's a bit more administrative work involved than I originally thought, but it's definitely paying off!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We opened our doors online in August of 2007.

Replace this with a question of your own

Unfortunately, I don't have any questions for you guys! Sorry!

What is your website address?
