Name of your website?

Ancient Art Replicas

Your name?

Cameron

Your Location (city, etc)

Cincinnati

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My website sells reproductions of art housed in some of the most famous museums in the world.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I did it because I love the products, love history and wanted to "give it a try".

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

In 2006 I launched a blog site dedicated to older people and their issues.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was representative of the site content and the domain name was available.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It is a site that is interesting to navigate through. Each of the reproductions has a section on the location, history and mythology associated with the original artwork. The reproductions can be viewed using the latest "lightbox" technology which really gives a superior view of the product.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to have a series of sites dedicated to the theme of affordable art with historical significance. I will keep all sites for income and interest.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Getting better.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I don't need that. Half the fun is doing it yourself.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, although I may have to start hiring.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The biggest headache is technology, but it is also fun.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The learning curve in technology has been steep. It is not for the faint hearted or those who shy away from challenges.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

It is too early to say.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't been different.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Site 1 is 15 months and site 2 is 3 months. I have no plan to stop. On the contrary, I will expand my presence.

Would you do it again.

Absolutely!
