Name of your website?

Maxine Ouellet - The Canvas Makes Conversation Of Art

Your name?

Maxine Ouellet

Your Location (city, etc)

Calgary

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This is primarily a gallery of recent works combined with a short biography and email opportunities.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The encouragement of my husband and the interest from friends and colleagues

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The website was first displayed in its present format on March 13, 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

This was the inspiration of my husband, the webmaster

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

This is a gallery for viewing as opposed to a menu for sale.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To incorporate the works of other emerging Alberta artists and to offer works for sale through the internet.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Success can be measured in many ways. Here we highlight finished work independent of time and money. The focus has been on the vision rather than a financial goal. One hopes success will lead to financial gain.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I might undertake more state of the art presentation such as a Flash presentation with online accounting.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

One would enjoy dealing with this joyful dilemma once it was presented.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The enjoyment of creating the website goes hand in hand with the creation of the art on canvas. Therefore all trials and tribulations were part of the experience.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping the artist happy!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

For the most part a solid clientele of email recipients has proven to be the most beneficial means.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I hope to have this website online for as long as the viewer, including family and friends show interest.

What is your website address?
